Bandai Namco Filmworks has unveiled a new main visual, additional cast members, theme song artists, and an official premiere date for the second cours of its magical girl anime Mahō no Shimai Lulutto Lilly (Magical Sisters Lulutto Lilly), produced in partnership with Studio Pierrot.
New Cast Members
Two new voice actors have been announced for the second cours:
- Yusuke Shirai as Mucchi, a resident of the magical land Felix Star and head of the executive committee for the “Magic Festival”
- Yūko Natsuyoshi as Shiromofu, a furball-like creature also living in Felix Star
It was previously announced that Miyari Nemoto will join the second cours as Asahi Araki, an idol otaku and devoted fan of Lilly who successfully auditions to join Production Once More.
Theme Songs: ILLIT and Lulutto Lilly Return
K-pop girl group ILLIT, who contributed to the first cours, returns to perform the new opening theme “Swingin’ Magic.” The idol unit Lulutto Lilly — comprising main characters Lilly Konpeto (voiced by May Tachibana) and Lulu Mashū (voiced by Nao Ojika) — also returns to perform the new ending theme “Dream a la Mode.”
Broadcast Details
The second cours premieres on October 4 on Tokyo MX at 10:30 p.m. JST, with simultaneous broadcasts on ABC TV, TV Aichi, BS NTV, and AT-X.
Story
The anime follows sisters Fū and Rui, who were once very close but have lately grown apart. Everything changes when Fū stumbles upon a mysterious spaceship and gains magical powers — and Rui acquires the same powers at the very same moment. Both girls can transform into the adult versions of themselves they have always dreamed of becoming. However, their magic comes with two strict conditions: it can only be used for one year, and no one must ever find out. Unaware that the other shares the same secret, Fū and Rui each begin careers as idols.
