The annual tribute screening event Kon Satoshi Birthday Festival 2026 (今 敏 生誕祭 2026) has been officially announced, running from October 9 to 12, 2026 at Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinemas and Shibuya HUMAX Cinema in Tokyo. The event will present all four of director Kon Satoshi’s Madhouse theatrical films alongside his TV series, several in newly prepared 4K remaster editions.
Screening Schedule
The festival opens on the night of Friday, October 9, with an all-night marathon screening of the TV series Paranoia Agent (妄想代理人) at Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinemas, beginning at 22:00 with a talk event held before the screening.
On Saturday, October 10, the same venue will host 4K remaster screenings of three theatrical films: PERFECT BLUE, Millennium Actress (千年女優), and Tokyo Godfathers (東京ゴッドファーザーズ). The PERFECT BLUE screening begins at 11:30, followed by a talk event.
The festival concludes on Monday, October 12 — Kon Satoshi’s actual birthday — at Shibuya HUMAX Cinema, with a 4K remaster screening of Paprika (パプリカ) starting at 12:30, followed by a talk event.

Key Visual and Merchandise
The main visual for the 2026 festival was once again designed by collage artist Q-TA, returning from the previous year’s event. Attendees can also look forward to entry gifts, original drinks themed around the films and their characters, and limited-edition merchandise sold exclusively at the event.
