The official website for the television anime adaptation of Tsuihō Sareta Cheat Fuyo Majutsushi wa Kimamana Second Life o Ōka Suru. — also known as Chi-Fuyo — released its main promotional video and key visual on Wednesday, alongside announcements of additional cast members, the opening theme song, and a confirmed premiere date.
Story
Rein Garland is an enchanter whose magic specializes in strengthening equipment. He is abruptly expelled from his guild for a baffling reason: every piece of gear they own has already been fully enhanced and his services are no longer needed. Furious at the absurd dismissal, Rein reclaims all the mana he had invested in the guild’s equipment. When he casually channels that mana into a random copper sword, it becomes a cheat-tier weapon boasting 10,000 enhancement points.
With no combat experience whatsoever but wielding magic that can turn any ordinary item into overpowered gear, Rein sets out to live a free and easy life as an adventurer. Set in a world where magic and science coexist, the series blends wild comedy with layered character drama — a combination that had fans buzzing with theories well before the anime was ever announced.
Opening Theme & Broadcast Details
The opening theme is titled “Ember Torch”, performed by rock band sumika. The anime premieres on TV Tokyo and its affiliated stations on October 6 at 24:00 (midnight into October 7), and on AT-X on October 8. Crunchyroll will stream the series simultaneously with its Japanese broadcast.

Staff
The anime is produced at P.A. Works under the direction of Shū Honma, known for Ya Boy Kongming!, Mayonaka Punch, and Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 “Sisters”. Yōko Yonaiyama (Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk, mono, Ya Boy Kongming!) is handling series composition. Tadahito Kiyosawa serves as character designer, with Masami Gohda as sub-character designer; both also act as chief animation directors.
Additional staff includes Min Ji Yu (chief animation director), Noboru Sugimitsu (monster design/action animation director), Kayoko Nabeta (main animator), Kazu Doi (color key artist), Tamako Kamiyama (art director), Arisa Okehazama (music), and Ryōsuke Naya (sound director).
Source Material
The original light novel by Asa Rokushima began serialization on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in January 2021 and is still ongoing. Kodansha published the first print volume with illustrations by kisui in January 2022, followed by a second volume in October 2022.
The manga adaptation by Gyōmuyōmochi launched in Kodansha’s Shōnen Magazine R in November 2021, then moved to Kodansha’s Comic Days app in March 2023 after Shōnen Magazine R ceased publication. The 21st compiled volume was released on August 7. Kodansha is also distributing the manga digitally in English through its K MANGA service.
