The production team behind the anime adaptation of The Vermillion Mask (Shuiro no Kamen), the manga by Dr.Poro and Nabana Naba, released the series’ second main promotional video on Thursday. The trailer announces the theme song artists, several newly cast voice actors, and confirms the show’s premiere date of October 10.

The opening theme, “Firestarter,” is performed by rock band MAN WITH A MISSION, while the ending theme, “Koe,” is handled by yutori. Both tracks are previewed in the new trailer.

Synopsis
The story centers on Peru, a young apprentice mask maker who loses control under the influence of a cursed mask, tragically killing both his master and his companions. Consumed by guilt, Peru embarks on a journey to destroy every legendary mask his master once created. Along the way he encounters unexpected allies and formidable enemies, setting the stage for a desperate battle for redemption — with both his soul and the fate of the world hanging in the balance.

About the Manga
Dr.Poro and Naba launched The Vermillion Mask in Shōnengahōsha’s Young King Ours magazine in February 2021. The ninth compiled volume was released on July 6. English readers can access the manga through Orange’s emaqi e-bookstore platform.
Crunchyroll will also hold an early theatrical screening of the anime in U.S. theaters on September 21, ahead of the October 10 television premiere.
