The original TV anime Kaze wo Tsugu Mono has released its second cast reveal promotional video, compiling character voice clips that had been gradually unveiled on social media since July.
A New Visual Approach to the Shinsengumi Story
Kaze wo Tsugu Mono blends Live2D animation with traditional hand-drawn techniques to depict the fleeting youth of the Shinsengumi during one of Japan’s most turbulent historical eras. The story centers on Tachikawa Jinsuke, a young man with amnesia, as he becomes entangled with the legendary swordsmen corps.
Cast Voices and Comments
The second PV features voice performances and messages from five cast members:

Kimura Ryohei (Nagakura Shinpachi): “It looks like the Shinsengumi story everyone knows… but little by little, something feels off. What role does the protagonist play in that history? Please watch alongside Nagakura to find out.”
Murase Ayumu (Fujido Heisuke): “Fujido is a fascinating character — his poker face makes it hard to tell what he’s thinking (laughs). His interactions with Nagakura and Harada are especially fun; the easy trust between those three should be a breath of fresh air in this series. Please look forward to Fujido’s appearances!”
Tsuchiya Shinba (Harada Sanosuke): “I’ve worked with scriptwriter Narii Yutaka three times in stage productions. The first work I did after deciding to pursue both voice acting and stage acting without barriers was one of Narii-san’s plays. Getting to work with him again as a voice actor fills me with deep emotion. Director Kawamura was very friendly, and the studio atmosphere was warm throughout. I can’t wait for the broadcast.”
Otsuka Takehiro (Yamanami Keisuke): “I’m truly honored to voice Yamanami Keisuke. I was always looking forward to each recording session, curious to see how this well-known subject would be portrayed. Please enjoy this Shinsengumi story told through the eyes of the amnesiac Jinsuke!”
Kase Yasuyuki (Serizawa Kamo): “Serizawa Kamo has clear strengths — exceptional swordsmanship, courage, and strong leadership — but also clear weaknesses: a terrible drinking habit, rough conduct, and violence toward civilians. I hope to bring my own color to this character. Please look forward to it!”
Broadcast and Release Schedule
The TV anime will begin airing in January 2027 on CBC/TBS and a network of 28 affiliated stations across Japan in the “Agaru Anime” timeslot. A limited theatrical advance screening will run for two weeks starting November 13.
