The Aniplex One Focus livestream event on Saturday unveiled a new promotional video for Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht: Rising (Gekijōban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten), the official sequel to Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion.

The livestream also debuted a new illustration by original character designer Ume Aoki.
Maaya Sakamoto Joins as Mysterious Upperclassman
The film’s staff announced on the same day that Maaya Sakamoto voices an unnamed upperclassman — referred to as “Wasu” — who bears a striking resemblance to Homura, though her true name and identity remain unknown.
Opening Weekend Performance
The film debuted at #1 in its opening weekend, selling 535,000 tickets and grossing 939,647,100 yen (approximately US$5.95 million) in its first three days.

Two new characters are introduced: magical girl Shichōka, voiced by Shion Wakayama, and Selma Therese, voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa.
