The second day of The Idolm@ster SideM 11th Stage ～Ever Ever＠fter～ concert event delivered a double announcement on Sunday, revealing both a theatrical film and the sub-franchise’s first-ever console game.
Gekijō-ban Idolm@ster SideM F＠ntastic Battle Fes ～Who goes first～
The film, titled Gekijō-ban Idolm@ster SideM F＠ntastic Battle Fes ～Who goes first～, is set to open across Japan on November 20. The story centers on the titular F＠ntastic Battle Fes competition among the idols of the 315 Production agency.
Bandai Namco Entertainment is planning, presenting, and credited as the original creator of the film. The production team is as follows:

First Console Game for SideM
The event also unveiled the first console game project for The Idolm@ster SideM. D3 Publisher and Bandai Namco are bringing the title to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The adventure game puts players in the role of a producer managing 49 idols across 16 units from 315 Production in a brand-new original story.
SideM Franchise History
The original SideM smartphone game launched in 2014, built around the concept of “idols you can produce,” and focused on the male idols of 315 Production (pronounced “Saikō Production”). It ended service on January 5, 2023. Two subsequent mobile titles followed: The Idolm@ster SideM Live on St@ge! (launched 2017, ended early 2021) and The Idolm@ster SideM Growing Stars (launched October 2021 in Japan, ended July 31, 2023).
On the anime front, the first TV series premiered in October 2017, preceded by a prologue special focusing on the Jupiter unit in September 2017. A 12-episode short-form anime series adapted from Sumeragi’s manga The Idolm@ster SideM Wake Atte Mini! aired in October 2018. A sequel manga, Wake Atte Mini! Returns, ran in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh magazine from September 2018 to January 2019, with its compiled volume — bundled with an anime episode — shipping in March 2019. Crunchyroll streamed all anime entries as they aired.
