The team behind the Oshiri Tantei (Butt Detective) anime announced on Friday that the series will air seven new weekly episodes beginning October 3.
The most recent prior batch of new episodes had debuted on April 4, with this latest run marking the anime’s return in October 2025.
Series History
The television anime first premiered on NHK Educational in May 2018 with three episodes, followed by a new series of seven episodes in July 2018. The show then moved to a regular weekly broadcast schedule in December 2018 and has been airing continuously ever since.
Latest Film
The franchise’s third anime film, Eiga Oshiri Tantei: Star and Moon (Butt Detective the Movie: Star and Moon), opened in Japanese theaters in March 2025.
