The TV anime Shin Samurai Den YAIBA has announced broadcast details for its second season, subtitled the “Kaguya Arc” (かぐや編). The new season will premiere on January 9, 2027, airing every Saturday at 17:30 on the Yomiuri TV / Nippon TV nationwide network. A new main visual has also been unveiled alongside the announcement.

Season 2 centers on a three-way conflict between Kaguya — the ruler of the moon who has awakened after a thousand-year slumber — Yaiba, the young samurai determined to become the greatest warrior in Japan in order to protect the country, and Onimaru, who schemes to dominate the world.
The newly revealed main visual depicts Yaiba and Onimaru powerfully crossing blades — the Ryujinken (Dragon God Sword) against the Fujinken (Wind God Sword). Reflected in the gleaming white of their blades are the figures of Kaguya abducting Sayaka, along with Tsukikage and Gekko.
