The production team behind the TV anime Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru. Season 2 (The Detective Is Already Dead Season 2) has released the synopsis and preview stills for Episode 1, ahead of the series’ premiere on October 7, 2026.
Episode 1 Synopsis — “To Meet You Once More”
The first episode is titled “Mou Ichido, Kimi ni Au Tame ni” (To Meet You Once More). While on their way to visit Siesta’s grave, Kimihiko Kimizuka, Nagisa Natsunagi, Yui Saikawa, and Charlotte Arisaka Anderson are abducted by unknown assailants. At their place of confinement, they are shown a video recorded by Siesta herself — one that reveals the truth behind her own death. As they watch in stunned silence, Natsunagi notices a crucial detail. And then, before Kimizuka and the others, Siesta — who should be dead — appears dressed as a maid…
5th Anniversary Visual and Special Projects
A 5th anniversary commemorative visual has also been released, depicting the main cast dressed in white outfits.
Additionally, a newly drawn illustration for the music video of “Kodou,” the Season 1 ending theme performed by Ayana Taketatsu in her role as Nagisa Natsunagi, has been unveiled.
As part of the 5th anniversary celebrations, an ASMR release titled “[Tanmoshi] Siesta ASMR ~Kimi, Watashi no Koto Suki Sugideshо~ [CV: Saki Miyashita]” is scheduled for sale in early October, with a newly illustrated jacket artwork by Umibouzu also revealed.
