The staff behind the television anime adaptation of TORCH’s Mazenchu character brand announced on Wednesday that actress First Summer Uika is providing the narration for the anime’s opening video. The opening video itself was also released to the public alongside the announcement.
Story
Mazenchu is set in a school where all manner of food characters live out their youth together — forging friendships, rivalries, and bittersweet romances in what the series describes as a “delicious coming-of-age story.”

Staff
The Mazenchu characters were originally created by Ebi. Director Yūsuke Takase — known for his CG work on Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I – The Egg of the King, Halo Legends, and Detroit Metal City — helms the production at Studio Nanahoshi.

Premiere
Mazenchu will begin airing on October 7, broadcasting every Wednesday as part of Kansai TV’s morning news and lifestyle program Yoidon! — marking the first original anime ever to air within the show.
