A collaboration video spotlighting the 「Eliyanz」 segment and in-film song 「TERASE」 from the original anime film GROTESQQQUE -グロテスク- has been released to the public.
What’s in the Video
The clip follows the daily life of Ellie, a young alien girl who has arrived on Earth as a goodwill ambassador from space, incorporating newly revealed scenes alongside previously shown footage. Viewers can catch glimpses of Ellie struggling to adapt to life on Earth, her partner Kenzo Kunizo, and several action sequences.
The song 「TERASE」—written, composed, and arranged by Ken Uekita and performed by Mika Ichinose—also launched digitally on October 14.
About GROTESQQQUE
GROTESQQQUE -グロテスク- is an original anime film made up of three self-contained segments set in entirely different worlds: 「Yorozuya★Shōjo」, 「Eliyanz」, and 「Nocturne ~In This Grotesque Night~」. The film is directed by Atsushi Nishikori, produced by CloverWorks, and distributed by ANIMEC. It is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on November 6.
In 「Eliyanz」, Ellie—an alien girl navigating a world rife with prejudice and fear toward extraterrestrials—teams up with Kenzo Kunizo, a civil servant at a space affairs bureau, as the two set off together in search of a “friend” for Ellie.

I am truly honored that my precious song TERASE has been chosen as an in-film song. I’ve loved anime since I was little—I always had anime songs playing whether I was sleeping or studying. Anime has always been a special place for me, so being involved in an anime project through music this way is deeply moving. I hope this song and this film reach as many people as possible and light up your hearts.
Ken Uekita (composer)
My heartfelt congratulations on the release of GROTESQQQUE. The creativity of director Nishikori and everyone involved in this film is filled with an almost cosmic level of dedication—when I first watched the footage, I was completely blown away. Above all, I got genuine goosebumps when I learned that my own song had been chosen for such a remarkable work. I’ve always written music with stories in mind, and I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful story to encounter. My gratitude is endless.
