Nihon Sankoku (日本三國), the TV anime adapted from Matsuki Ikka‘s manga serialised in Shogakukan’s MangaOne app, is now available to stream in full on two platforms: U-NEXT and Amazon Prime Video.

As of October 2026, Nihon Sankoku is confirmed for unlimited streaming on U-NEXT and Amazon Prime Video only. Services including Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, ABEMA, dAnime Store, Lemino, DMM TV, FOD, and TELASA have not been confirmed, nor has the rental service TSUTAYA DISCAS. The free broadcast catch-up platform TVer also does not carry the series.

Story & Highlights

Nihon Sankoku is set in a near-future Japan where civilisation has collapsed following nuclear war, natural disasters, and corrupt governance, leading to a revolution that splits the country into three rival kingdoms locked in a struggle for supremacy.

The protagonist, Misumi Aoteru, is a young agricultural official living quietly in the rural Ehime district of the Yamato Kingdom alongside his wife, Higashimachi Saki. His fate is upended when Taira Denki, the de facto ruler of Yamato, arrives at the head of a cavalry force. Rather than fighting with brute strength, Aoteru wields knowledge of the old civilisation and sharp rhetoric to rise through the ranks — earning him the title, as the official site puts it, of “the man who would later be called the genius strategist.”
