A new merchandise item tied to the theatrical film Takopi’s Original Sin: Thank You, See You Tomorrow (タコピーの原罪 -ありがとう、また明日-) has been announced: the “Nani ga Ataru ka Wakaranai-ppi Biscuit” — a snack box that comes with one randomly included accessory from a pool of 15 varieties. The product is set to go on sale in February 2027 at mass-market retailers and candy sections of stores across Japan, priced at 350 yen (385 yen tax-included).
About Takopi’s Original Sin
Takopi’s Original Sin is a manga by Taizan5, serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app from December 2021 to March 2022. Despite its short run, it recorded the highest readership of any title running concurrently on the platform. The series concluded in just two volumes but surpassed 1.4 million copies in circulation, and ranked 3rd in the male category of the “Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023” rankings.
An Anime That Became a Social Phenomenon
An anime adaptation produced by TBS Television and ENISHIYA launched in June 2025 as a streaming-exclusive series. Each new episode triggered widespread trending on social media, turning the show into a genuine cultural moment despite having no terrestrial broadcast.
The anime earned the Best Anime prize at the Filmarks Awards 2025, received seven nominations at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026 — including Anime of the Year — and took home the Jury Award in the TV Series category at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026.
The Theatrical Film
The film Takopi’s Original Sin: Thank You, See You Tomorrow is a theatrical re-edit of all six anime episodes, supplemented with newly added scenes. It is screening at Shinjuku Wald 9 and cinemas nationwide across Japan.
