The new manga series Teppeki Guard no Sumiko-san! ~Ore ni Renai Shinan Shite Kuru Gal Senpai ga Saikyou Sugiru Ken~ officially launched on the web manga platform COMIC Meteor on October 21.
Creative Team
The series is based on an original story by Kenyuu, with art and manga adaptation handled by Ishigami Akira.
Story
The series is a youth romantic comedy pairing a strong-willed gal with an unremarkable loner. The male protagonist, Oba Naogata, is going through a rough patch — he has drifted apart from his childhood friend, been turned down by his class president, and even been looked down upon by a girl he thought shared his otaku interests.
Into his gloomy life steps his upperclassman, a gal named Junren (Sumiko). Known as the “ironclad gal” for her flashy looks but impenetrable guard, she takes it upon herself to give Oba lessons in love — and that unlikely mentorship sets the story in motion.
Award-Winning Origin
The manga is adapted from a novel that won the “COMIC Meteor × Neo Page Love Comedy Award,” a joint competition held by the novel-posting site Neo Page and COMIC Meteor.
