Story & Highlights
DARK MACHINE THE ANIMATION is an original TV anime and part of the DARK MACHINE cross-media project by Project Carbuncle, which simultaneously develops an e-sports game and an anime series.
In a near-future Japan where the e-sports title “Dark Machine” has grown so popular it has reshaped the country’s economy, the city of Golden Valley serves as Japan’s only Dark Machine economic special zone. It is effectively ruled by Ajima, the seventh holder of the champion title “Senki.”
Kairi arrives in Golden Valley carrying his late grandfather’s dying wish — “find the Senki” — and crosses paths with Rudra, a girl being pursued by Ajima’s enforcers, the Arudabiru. Drawn into the world of Dark Machine, Kairi fights his way through fierce battles and begins to awaken his true talent.
The series features a high-profile creative team: Taniguchi Goro (director of the Code Geass series) serves as Creative Producer; Tenjin Hidetaka handles mecha design; and Production +h. produces the animation. The score is composed by SUGIZO, with the opening theme 「存在理由 改」 performed by BUCK∞TICK and the ending theme 「Galaxy Mode」 by 三代目 J SOUL BROTHERS.
