An official website launched on Monday to announce that Chi ni Ueta Hanayome wa Ō o Kurau (The Bloodthirsty Bride Devours the King), the manga written by Shiki and illustrated by Yū Shinonome, is getting a television anime adaptation slated to air in 2027.
Story
Described as a “forbidden dark romantic fantasy,” the story unfolds against a backdrop of war. Kate, a princess maiden who harbors vampiric powers, enters an arranged marriage with Luka, the mightiest king of the realm, in order to protect her homeland. But on their very first night together, the scent of his blood awakens her true nature, shaking the foundation of their bond. Is the destined couple’s connection merely a contract, raw instinct, or something deeper — love?

The original manga is available in both individual chapters and collected volumes across several Japanese digital platforms, including honto. The 29th chapter and fourth compiled volume both debuted in October.
