The official website for the A Wild Last Boss Appeared! (Yasei no Last Boss ga Arawareta!) television anime has revealed a wave of new information for Season 2, including the first promotional video, seven additional cast members, returning and new staff, and an October premiere date.

Yūya Horiuchi returns to direct at studio Wao World, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu again handling series scripts. Season 1 character designer Maiko Ebisawa is back, joined by the first season’s episode chief animation directors — Tōko Nakamura, Takashi Kobayashi, Shōta Ueno, Mamiko Mizutani, and Takahiro Miura — who are now contributing to character design alongside newcomer Akiko Satō.

Synopsis
In the year 2800 of the Mizgard calendar, Rufus Mafarl — the fearsome Black-Winged Conqueror — meets his end at the hands of the Seven Heroes. His sealing brings an apparent peace, but the resulting collapse of the world’s power balance allows the devilfolk to rise as a new threat. Two hundred years later, humanity attempts to summon a champion to fight back — only for the overlord Lufas to awaken from his long seal instead.

About the Source Material
Firehead and YahaKo’s A Wild Last Boss Appeared! began as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2015 and concluded in 2017. Earth Star Entertainment published the ninth and final light novel volume in April 2019. A manga adaptation by Tsubasa Hazuki has been running on Comic Earth Star since 2017. J-Novel Club publishes both the light novel and manga in English. The franchise has over 1.4 million copies in circulation.
Season 1 of the anime began streaming on ABEMA and U-NEXT in September 2025 before its television broadcast in October 2025.
