The TV anime Yani Neko (ヤニねこ), based on the manga by Nyan Nyan Factory serialized in Kodansha’s Young Magazine, will release a special version titled “Jaryuu Kaihou-ban” (邪竜解放版) — a cut of the series that fully honors the director’s creative intentions. This version will air on AT-X and be available on select streaming services.
Story
Yani Neko follows the laid-back daily life of Yani Neko, a beast-person (獣人) who smokes cigarettes and drifts through life without a care. The series begins broadcasting on July 2, 2026, with the Jaryuu Kaihou-ban running alongside the standard on-air version.
