NHK Eテレ’s voice-talent talk show Bistro Voice (ビストロボイス), hosted by veteran voice actor Yamdera Kouichi (山寺宏一), will welcome two special guests for its episode airing on Saturday, October 31, 2026: voice actor Miki Shinichiro (三木眞一郎) and multi-hyphenate artist-actress Ano (あの).
Bistro Voice brings together specialists from across the world of voice performance to demonstrate their craft and discuss the essence of what makes a great voice.
The Guests
Miki Shinichiro is widely known for voicing Kojiro (James) in the Pocket Monsters franchise and Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Ano rose to prominence with hit songs such as 「ちゅ、多様性。」 and made her anime voice-acting debut as the lead in the short animated film Shiranui (しらぬひ), in which she and Miki played a parent and child.
Episode Highlights
- Ano breaks down how she adapts her voice across the wide range of genres she works in.
- Yamdera and Miki share why Ano’s voice performance left them stunned — Miki admitted he thought to himself after recording, “Was I even okay in there?”
- Ano opens up about a past complex she had about her own voice and how she approached her first voice-acting role despite it.
- Miki shares behind-the-scenes stories from recording Pocket Monsters alongside Hayashibara Megumi (Musashi/Jessie) and Inuyama Inuko (Nyarth/Meowth).
- Miki reveals his personal philosophy: “The most important thing is your ears” — his definition of what it truly means to be a voice actor.
