The staff behind the television anime adaptation of Tsuyoshi Takaki‘s manga Black Torch released a “final” promotional video on Friday, offering fans a preview of both episode 11 and the series finale (episode 12), including glimpses of the climactic last battle. The finale is set to stream on Crunchyroll on September 19, 2026.
Story
Jiro Azuma comes from a long line of shinobi and possesses the rare ability to communicate with animals. Despite his rough exterior, he has a soft spot for furry creatures — a weakness that lands him in serious trouble when a mysterious stray cat fuses with his body. The fusion grants Jiro extraordinary power, but it also pulls him into humanity’s secret war against powerful and menacing spirits.

About the Manga
Takaki — also known for Heart Gear — launched Black Torch in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine in December 2016. The series concluded with five compiled volumes, the last of which shipped in August 2018. Viz Media publishes the manga in English.
