To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Bungou Stray Dogs (文豪ストレイドッグス) TV anime — whose first season premiered in April 2016 — organizers have announced a nationwide screening event spanning six cities across Japan. The screenings will cover three story arcs across three separate dates between September and November 2026.
Schedule and Venues
Each screening focuses on a different season of the series:
- Season 2 “Kuro no Jidai” (The Dark Era) — Saturday, 5 September 2026
- Season 3 “Juugosai” (Age Fifteen) — Sunday, 18 October 2026
- Season 4 “Tantei-sha Setsuritsu Hiwa” (The Secret Chronicles of the Detective Agency’s Founding) — Saturday, 21 November 2026
Participating theaters are: Sapporo Cinema Frontier (Hokkaido), Marunouchi Piccadilly (Tokyo), Yokohama Burg 13 (Kanagawa), Midland Square Cinema (Aichi), Namba Parks Cinema (Osaka), and T-Joy Hakata (Fukuoka). All attendees will receive a film-style clear bookmark as an entry gift, with a different design for each screening version.
Special Cast Talk Shows in Tokyo
At the Marunouchi Piccadilly screenings in Tokyo, each date will feature a live talk show with voice actors from the respective arc. Uemura Yuto, who voices protagonist Nakajima Atsushi, will serve as MC for all three events. The lineups are as follows:
- “Kuro no Jidai” (5 Sep.) — Miyano Mamoru (Dazai Osamu), Miyamoto Mitsuru (Mori Ogai)
- “Juugosai” (18 Oct.) — Taniyama Kisho (Nakahara Chuya), Uchida Yuya (Rando)
- “Tantei-sha Setsuritsu Hiwa” (21 Nov.) — Kamiya Hiroshi (Edogawa Ranpo), Koyama Rikiya (Fukuzawa Yukichi)
About Bungou Stray Dogs
Bungou Stray Dogs is a supernatural action series in which characters bear the names of real historical literary figures — including Nakajima Atsushi, Dazai Osamu, and Akutagawa Ryunosuke — and wield extraordinary abilities. The manga, created by Asagiri Kafka and illustrated by Harukawa 35, has been serialized in Young Ace (KADOKAWA) since 2012, with the first part now concluded.
Priority lottery ticket sales for the Tokyo talk show screenings are open from 14 to 30 August, with results announced at 6:00 PM on 31 August.
