A special collaboration between the hit film Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc and traditional Japanese craftsmanship has arrived: a Pochita-themed coin purse (gamaguchi) crafted using the centuries-old Koshu Inden (甲州印伝) technique is now open for pre-order.
About Chainsaw Man
Based on the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the Chainsaw Man series has surpassed 36 million copies in circulation. Part One ran in Weekly Shonen Jump and Part Two continues in Shonen Jump+, both published by Shueisha. The TV anime, produced by MAPPA, began airing in October 2022 on the TV Tokyo network and is now available in over 200 countries and regions worldwide.
The theatrical film Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, distributed by Toho, opened in Japan on September 19, 2025. It became a massive box-office hit, earning ¥10.8 billion domestically and a cumulative worldwide gross of ¥29.78 billion. The film also won the Animation Film Award at the 49th Japan Academy Prize (2026). A sequel anime series, Chainsaw Man: Shikaku-hen, has since been announced.
What Is Koshu Inden?
Koshu Inden is a traditional Japanese craft originating in Yamanashi Prefecture. It involves dyeing soft, tanned deerskin and applying intricate patterns using black lacquer (urushi) by hand. The resulting material is lightweight, supple, and durable — and develops a richer texture with use over time.
Design Details
The coin purse features Pochita rendered in lacquer, surrounded by a scale pattern evoking both Pochita’s tail and the starter rope on Chainsaw Man’s chest. Because each piece is finished entirely by hand by skilled artisans at Inden no Yamamoto in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, subtle variations in color and lacquer pattern mean that no two purses are exactly alike.
