The official website for Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Kikikaikai! Ora no Yōkai Bake-shon (Crayon Shin-chan The Movie Super Strange! My Yōkai Monster Vacation), the 33rd 2D animated film in the Crayon Shin-chan series, announced on Friday that Runa Nakagawa and Noel Hayase — singers from idol group FRUITS ZIPPER — will appear as guest cast members. Their specific in-story roles have not yet been disclosed, though the film’s staff has also named the pair as members of the “Spooky Monster Booster Team” to help promote the film.

FRUITS ZIPPER currently performs the television anime’s theme song “Hacha Mecha Wacha life!”

Story

The film revolves around “the land of yōkai.” The Nohara family travels to Hiroshi’s hometown of Akita to attend a renowned summer fireworks festival, but an incident causes yōkai to escape their realm and run amok across Akita and the rest of Japan. The family then ventures into the yōkai world — a place that feels both mysterious and strangely nostalgic — setting off on an unpredictable adventure.

  • Sakamoto of comedy duo Mayurika as the Squid Yōkai, first baseman of the Edomae Sushies baseball team, who challenges Shin-chan and his friends to a game
  • Yumiko Kobayashi, Miki Narahashi, Toshiyuki Morikawa, and Satomi Koorogi also appear in the film

Previous Film’s Performance

The most recent entry in the franchise, Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Chō Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers — the 32nd 2D film in the series — opened in Japan on August 8, 2025. It earned 450,283,700 yen (approximately US$3.07 million) in its opening three days, climbing to 633 million yen (approximately US$4.33 million) over its first four days.

Crayon Shin-chan first premiered in April 1992 and continues to air every Saturday at 4:30 p.m. JST on TV Asahi. A television anime adaptation of Yōichi Tsukahara’s spinoff manga Nohara Hiroshi Hirumeshi no Ryūgi also began airing on TV Asahi on October 3.
