To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Detective Conan (名探偵コナン) TV anime, children’s footwear brand Shunsoku (瞬足) has produced a pair of real, wearable Kick-Boosting Shoes (キック力増強シューズ) — the iconic gadget invented by Dr. Agasa and used by protagonist Edogawa Conan. The shoes go on sale 15 July 2026.
Three Decades of Detective Conan
Based on Gosho Aoyama‘s manga, which continues its run in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday, Detective Conan has sold more than 270 million copies worldwide and won the 46th Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōnen category. The anime has been on air since January 1996 and currently broadcasts every Saturday at 6:00 p.m. on the Yomiuri TV / Nippon TV network across Japan. Its annual theatrical films have consistently broken box-office records, drawing fans of all ages.
A Gadget Brought to Life
Shunsoku has recreated the Kick-Boosting Shoes as faithfully as possible. The standout feature is a dial-shaped component on the side of each shoe that actually spins, producing a clicking sound just like in the anime — letting wearers feel as though they are really powering up for a Conan-style super kick.
Shunsoku is known for combining child-focused foot-health design — including lasts shaped for children’s feet and impact-reducing construction based on its “Sokuiku” (foot-development) philosophy — with exciting, character-driven aesthetics. The brand has sold a cumulative 86 million pairs across its range.
