The official X/Twitter account for the Firefly Wedding television anime — based on the manga by Oreko Tachibana — announced a new cast addition on Thursday: Kazuyuki Okitsu will voice Eishin Nitobe, the son of the Metropolitan Police Department superintendent general.
Cast
The previously announced leads are Lynn as Satoko Kirigaya and Kōki Uchiyama as Shinpei Gotō. Supporting roles include Kent Itō as Kōtarō Ogawa and Kenjirō Tsuda as Mitsueda.
Staff
Takahiro Kamei, known for directing the 2022–2024 Urusei Yatsura series, helms the anime at david production. Yukiko Aikei (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop, Your Lie in April) handles character design, while Yūko Kakihara (Urusei Yatsura 2022–2024, IRODUKU: The World in Colors, Blue Box) oversees and writes the series scripts. NOGRID is composing the music.

Story
On the surface, Satoko Kirigaya has it all — beauty, noble lineage, and a prime age for marriage. But she is gravely ill with little time left to live. Before she can arrange a match to restore her standing in her family’s eyes, she becomes the target of the enigmatic assassin Shinpei. Desperate to survive, she makes an unexpected proposal — of marriage. For Shinpei, however, the vow “until death do us part” is no mere formality.
Manga & Other Media
Tachibana launched the manga on Shogakukan’s Manga ONE app in January 2023; the 13th compiled volume was released on October 19. Viz Media publishes the series in English. A live-action television adaptation is also in the works, slated to debut in 2027.
