Japanese manufacturing company Dreams has announced that its popular Funbarus posture-support plush toy line is getting a short anime adaptation. The two-minute series will premiere on October 3 on the BS Yoshimoto channel at 11:25 p.m. JST, followed by a Tokyo MX broadcast on October 5 at 9:54 p.m. JST. Along with the premiere dates, the company revealed the anime’s full cast, staff, and an image song titled “Kimi ni BUMP” performed by hip-hop group Ketsumeishi.
A New “2D x AI Hybrid” Production Method
The production employs a novel “2D x AI hybrid” animation pipeline. Key animation drawings are produced through traditional 2D techniques based on planning documents, storyboards, and character and art designs, after which 3D CG and “AI digital techniques” are used to generate the final animation sequences.
Story
The anime follows Nossori, a laid-back sloth who diligently supports the humans around him while quietly eavesdropping on their everyday conversations — conversations that never fail to send his imagination running wild.
