The official website for the television anime adaptation of Ayaka Katayama‘s manga Fungus and Iron (Kin to Tetsu) revealed the series’ second teaser visual and announced its director on Thursday.
Director and Studio
Veteran director Keitarō Motonaga is helming the project at Yokohama Animation Lab. Motonaga is well known for directing The Beginning After The End (two seasons), Date A Live (three seasons), and GetBackers.
Story
Kodansha USA Publishing, which releases the manga digitally in English, describes the story as follows: Dante’s life on Amigasa seemed normal enough to him, even though everyone around him called him an oddball. But when a chance meeting with a young woman named Aoi changes everything, Dante can no longer sit idly by.
Manga Background
Katayama launched the manga in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in March 2021. The series went on hiatus in August 2021 while Katayama took maternity leave, then resumed serialization in March 2022. The manga is set to conclude serialization on September 9.
