Fans of the beloved hamster anime are in for a treat: a special two-day theatrical event titled “Hamuha! Welcome to the HamHam Cinema — The Tottoko Hamutaro Film Festival!” (はむはー!ハムハム映画館へようこそ~ 劇場版とっとこハム太郎まつりなのだ!) will be held at Jinbocho Theatre in Tokyo on July 11 and 12, 2026.
The event will screen two classic theatrical films based on the original manga by Ritsuko Kawai (河井リツ子):
- Gekijouban Tottoko Hamutaro: HamHam Land Daibouken (劇場版 とっとこハム太郎 ハムハムランド大冒険) — originally released in 2001
- Gekijouban Tottoko Hamutaro: HamHam Hamuja! Maboroshi no Princess (劇場版 とっとこハム太郎 ハムハムハムージャ! 幻のプリンセス) — originally released in 2002
Alongside standard screenings, the event features two special formats: family screenings (親子上映), designed to be comfortable for parents with young children, and cheer screenings (応援上映), where audiences are encouraged to sing along, clap, cheer, and fully express their enthusiasm.
