Story Synopsis

The film continues the series’ theme of young women fighting through hardship. One protagonist drops out of high school in her second year and works alone in Tokyo while preparing for university entrance exams. Another is betrayed by her friends and left without direction. A third is abandoned by her parents and scrapes by on part-time work.

This world lets us down all the time. Nothing goes as planned. But we want something that we can continue to like. We believe there’s a place where we belong. That’s why we sing.

Stage Production and Live Concert

Alongside the film, a stage production of Girls Band Cry is scheduled to run from March 21 to 28 at Sunshine Theatre in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. The real-life band TOGENASHI TOGEARI will also hold a live concert at K-Arena Yokohama on March 20.
