The live-action drama Gokudo Joushi ni Aisaretara (If I’m Loved by My Yakuza Boss) has officially been greenlit for a second season, set to premiere on MBS on December 17, 2026, every Thursday at 24:59. Totsuka Shota of A.B.C-Z returns as Odagiri Ren, and Konno Ayaka returns as Sugawara Makoto, reprising their double-lead roles from Season 1.
About the Series
The drama is based on the manga by Mashimo Nao and @R, with the full title Gokudo Joushi ni Aisaretara ~Reitetsu Kare to no Amasugiru Doukyо~. The story follows Makoto, a young woman who loses both her partner and her home after being cheated on, only to be rescued by her boss Ren — who secretly serves as the second-in-command of a yakuza organization. The original manga has surpassed 1.5 million copies sold and has topped the overall rankings on both Mecha Comic and LINE Manga. Season 1, which aired in 2025, generated significant buzz, recording over 1 million catch-up views within a single week.
Season 2 Story
Season 2 picks up one year after the events of Season 1. Ren and Makoto are living together in a sweet domestic life, though they keep their relationship secret from those around them. When a coworker announces their engagement, Makoto begins to seriously consider what the future holds for her and Ren — and a new set of trials awaits the couple.
