The official website for Grotesqqque (formerly titled Grotesque), the original anime film directed by Atsushi Nishigori, announced on Wednesday that the film will feature the song “TERASE” performed by Mika Ichinose. The track is one of the musical contributions to the film’s “A(E)liens” segment, with singer-songwriter Ken Kamikita handling lyrics, composition, and arrangement. The song is now available on major streaming platforms, and a collaboration music video pairing the song with footage from the film has also been released.
Three Stories, Three Worlds
Grotesqqque is an omnibus film comprising three stories set in entirely different worlds:
- “A(E)liens”
- “Yoroshiku★Girl” (also known as “4649 Girl”; the title is a Japanese pun — the numbers 4-6-4-9 can be read as “Yoroshiku,” meaning “Nice to Meet You,” while the kanji carry the literal meaning “Evening Dew Heads to Its Death★Girl”)
- “Nocturne: Nuit Grotesque” (Japanese title: Nocturne: Kono Grotesque na Yoru ni, meaning “Nocturne: On This Grotesque Night”)
