The production team behind the summer 2026 TV anime Grow Up Show ~Himawari no Circus-dan~ has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 2, “Sore wa Tottemo, Mabayukute” (“It Was So Very Dazzling”), set to air on Saturday, July 11, 2026, on TOKYO MX and other stations.

About Grow Up Show

This original TV anime is directed by Kanta Kamei, known for Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata, with Kurehito Misaki serving as original character designer. Animation production is handled by A-1 Pictures / Psyde Kick Studio.

The story is set in Japan during the Showa 30s era — roughly the late 1950s to early 1960s — a time of rapid economic growth when the circus was a central form of entertainment. Circus troupes travel across the country competing for a coveted spot in the “Kirkus Collection,” a prestigious world festival open only to the very best. Among them is Himawari Circus, led by ringmaster Maria, who perpetually struggles with a chronic lack of funds. When circus prodigy Mizuka Tsurumaki arrives under mysterious circumstances, her encounter with the troupe’s colorful members sets the stage for a one-of-a-kind circus show about girls chasing their dreams.

Episode 2 Synopsis: “It Was So Very Dazzling”

Himawari Circus heads to Toyokawa, a popular performance venue, with the members eagerly anticipating a large crowd. But upon arrival, they discover that their scheduled performance site has been seized by “Shiny Lavender,” a rival troupe under the powerful Mikado Group.

If they cannot perform, the perpetually cash-strapped troupe faces dissolution. With their very existence on the line, Oka recalls an alternative venue — but where exactly will the troupe end up?
