Preview cuts from the first episode of TV anime Honoo no Tōkyūjo Dodge Danko (炎の闘球女 ドッジ弾子) have been released. The series is based on the manga by Tetsuhiro Koshita, currently serialized in Weekly CoroCoro Comic published by Shogakukan.
Story and Episode 1
The anime is an adaptation of the sequel manga to Honoo no Tōkyūji Dodge Danpei, which was a major hit in the 1990s. The story follows Danko, the daughter of original protagonist Ichigeki Danpei, as she throws herself headfirst into the sport of dodgeball.
Episode 1 centers on Danko’s efforts to revive the dodgeball club at Kyūgawa Elementary — now reorganized as the Kyūgawa combined elementary and middle school — which was disbanded after a string of injuries during her father Danpei’s era.
Broadcast and Streaming Schedule
The series premieres on July 6, 2026 on TOKYO MX and BS11, airing every Monday at 23:00. MBS follows on Tuesdays at 27:00 (from July 7), and Mie TV on Wednesdays at 24:20 (from July 8).
Streaming begins on Anime Times and dAnime Store on July 6 at 23:30. Prime Video, Hulu, Lemino, U-NEXT, Anime Hōdai, Bandai Channel, J:COM STREAM, TELASA, milplus, FOD, AnimeFesta, DMM TV, and ABEMA will all begin streaming on July 9, 2026 at 23:30.
