The staff behind Shin Gekijōban ☆ Keroro Gunsō Fukkatsu Shite Sokkō Chikyū Metsubō no Kiki de Arimasu! (New Sgt. Frog the Movie: The Earth Is in Mortal Peril as Soon as We Come Back!), the new 20th-anniversary anime film, began streaming a promotional video titled “Reiwa ni Kero! to Fukkatsu” (Kero! A Comeback in the Reiwa Era) on Tuesday. The video introduces the Keroro platoon and features the previously announced opening theme song “Mata Kaettekita KERO! to MARCH”, performed by singer ano and comedian Soshina.
New Characters and Guest Cast
Jesse of the idol group SixTONES voices two new characters — brothers Aruru and Deruru — who hail from the planet Keron and apparently share a past connection with Sgt. Frog’s unit.
Opening theme artists ano and Soshina also appear in the film as guest cast members. ano plays a researcher robot, while Soshina plays a “man in Shibuya.”

Staff
Yūichi Fukuda, known for the live-action Gintama, Saint Young Men, and HK/Hentai Kamen films, serves as supervising director and scriptwriter. Fumitoshi Oizaki — the original Sgt. Frog character designer, also known for Romeo X Juliet, Etotama, and Akuma Kun — directs the animation at Bandai Namco Pictures. Satoshi Koike (Etotama, Soul Eater Not!, Princess Connect! Re:Dive season 2) is handling character design. In addition to the opening theme, ano will also perform the film’s “Kashippanashi Destiny” theme song.
New TV Anime in 2026
Alongside the film, an all-new Keroro Gunsō ☆ television anime series has been announced for a fall 2026 debut. The new TV series will feature a brand-new cast, while this summer’s film retains the franchise’s existing voice cast.
Franchise Background
The original Sunrise anime series, based on Mine Yoshizaki‘s Keroro Gunsō manga, ran from 2004 to 2011 and spawned five theatrical films. In North America, Discotek holds the license and has been releasing all 358 episodes on SD Blu-ray Disc by season since 2021, with seasons 5–7 arriving last year. Crunchyroll also added the original TV series to its catalog in 2021.
