A companion programme titled “Kikkun no Choi Tashi!” (きっくんのちょい足し！) has been announced to air alongside the upcoming short anime “Chikyuu Daisuki! Kikkun” (地球大好き！きっくん). The show will premiere on July 2, 2026, and is hosted by Nakamaru Yuichi, who serves as the original creator, character designer, and voice actor for the main series.
About “Kikkun no Choi Tashi!”
The programme will air every Thursday from 7:30 to 7:35 a.m. on TOKYO MX, with episodes made available on TVer after broadcast. Each episode will include a segment of the main anime, updates from Nakamaru himself, and behind-the-scenes commentary on the production and creative choices behind Chikyuu Daisuki! Kikkun.
About “Chikyuu Daisuki! Kikkun”
The main anime follows Kikkun, an alien who travels from a distant planet with the mission of invading Earth. However, Kikkun and the Japan Invasion Squad become so charmed by the country’s comfortable lifestyle that they forget their original objective entirely — and instead find themselves wanting to protect Japan and the planet. The story is based on a concept Nakamaru has been developing for approximately 15 years. Each episode runs about 2 minutes, with a total of 52 episodes planned. The anime begins airing on July 1, 2026, every Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. on TOKYO MX, as part of the variety programme “5時に夢中！”.

“Chikyuu Daisuki! Kikkun is finally about to begin! Since it’s a short anime, I think the fun comes through even if you’re watching casually while doing something else. I’d love for it to become part of your routine. Each episode is self-contained, but if you watch several together, you might notice props in the background that are actually foreshadowing for other episodes — there are hidden details you won’t catch on a first watch. In Kikkun no Choi Tashi!, I’ll be sharing little bits of that kind of behind-the-scenes info, so I hope you’ll enjoy watching two or three times and exploring every corner of the show!”
