Manga artist San (散) has launched a brand-new series titled 「帰国子女（カレ）とは気まずい距離感でして」 (Kikokushijo (Kare) to wa Kimazui Kyorikan Deshite) on comipo comics, the manga label of digital platform viviON. The first volume went on sale digitally across major e-book stores on October 9.
Story
The series centers on Mashiro, a high-school girl whose childhood best friend Saku once moved overseas, leaving behind the all-too-familiar promise: “I’ll definitely write to you.” Even as their letters gradually stopped coming, Mashiro never doubted the bond they shared, telling herself that no news was good news.
Everything changes when Saku transfers into Mashiro’s high school. He fits in effortlessly with their classmates — yet reserves a noticeably cold and distant attitude for Mashiro alone, leaving her confused and uncomfortable. Saku, for his part, is equally troubled: he longs to reconnect the way they used to, but simply cannot find the right way to close the gap.
The manga follows the awkward, heart-fluttering misunderstandings of two old friends who must somehow rediscover each other all over again.
