Nanai Kaisei’s manga Kizuguchi to Hōtai (傷口と包帯), currently serialized on Kodansha’s web manga platform “月マガ基地,” has been officially announced for a TV anime adaptation. The series is scheduled to begin broadcasting in January 2027 on the ANiMAZiNG!!! programming block on ABCテレビ and the テレビ朝日 national network, airing every Saturday at 26:00.
Story
Kizuguchi to Hōtai is billed as a “special-fetish romantic comedy.” The story centers on Washizu Riyo, the daughter of a yakuza boss who controls the entire Kantō region, and Kiriya, the young lieutenant assigned to look after her. Kiriya initially dismisses Riyo as a quiet, unremarkable girl — but she turns out to be a “Yowara”: someone who becomes intensely excited at the sight of a strong person in a weakened state. Despite being constantly swept up in her unusual proclivities, the two gradually grow closer.
Volume 5 of the manga tankobon is set to go on sale on July 16.

Two Teaser Visuals Revealed
Two teaser key visuals were released alongside the announcement. The “Standard Version” depicts Kiriya alongside Riyo, who wraps him in a gentle, fleeting smile. The “Yowara Version” shows an injured and weakened Kiriya being watched by Riyo with a gaze full of barely concealed mania.

Thanks to everyone, Kizuguchi to Hōtai is getting an anime. This is a special-fetish romantic comedy built around the concept of the “Yowara.” When I was drawing it as a one-shot, thinking I’d just “launch one weirdly shaped giant firework and call it done,” I never could have imagined this. I’m truly happy and honored that the Yowara world, which was supposed to end in a small room, is now expanding in a new form. The anime team has come up with so many approaches I never would have thought of myself — I’m genuinely looking forward to it as a fan. I hope everyone enjoys it together!
