The upcoming anime adaptation of Koise yo Mayakashi Tenshi-domo (恋せよまやかし天使ども) has officially announced its main cast. Nao Kojika (小鹿なお) will voice Katsura Otogi, while Taito Ban (坂泰斗) will voice Ninomae Toki (一 刻). The announcement was accompanied by a cast PV and a comment from music producer Kensuke Ushio (牛尾憲輔).
About the Source Material
Written and illustrated by Koko Uzuki (卯月ここ) and serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Desert since 2023, Koise yo Mayakashi Tenshi-domo became a sensation almost immediately after launch. Its striking character designs, the contrast between characters’ public and private faces, and a “secret shared by two” have captivated readers across Japan. The series has won multiple manga awards including the Kodansha Manga Award, and its cumulative circulation has surpassed 2.35 million copies as of September 2026.

The casting news was first unveiled on AniplexOneFocus, Aniplex’s information showcase program, streamed on September 11. Alongside the announcement, a cast PV was released that highlights both the public personas and hidden sides of Otogi and Toki.

Taito Ban — Ninomae Toki
“When I read the original manga, I was completely drawn in by the gap between Toki’s two sides. He appears gentle and perfect to everyone around him — but deep down, there’s another face he never shows anyone. For the audition, I poured in everything I’ve built up as a voice actor. I’m truly thrilled to be playing such a layered, fascinating character. I hope everyone enjoys the story of Otogi and Toki — their secret that only the two of them share — set within this delicate and vivid world!”
Music
Music production for the series is helmed by Kensuke Ushio, known for his work on the Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc theatrical film and the NHK drama Bakebake. Composition duties are handled by Yunosuke Senoo (妹尾祐之介) and Yuki Kurihara (栗原悠希), who previously contributed to Shunkashuto Daikousha: Haru no Mai.
Ushio commented: “The expression one shows to others, and the feelings that slip out unguarded — I hope to somehow translate what lives in that space between them, the things that can’t be put into words, into music. Please look forward to it.”
