The live-action film Koukousei Kazoku (High School Family), based on the manga by Nakama Ryo, has released a character PV and character poster spotlighting Kaye Ichiro — a 45-year-old man who becomes an “uncle high schooler” — portrayed by Katori Shingo.
Character PV: Kaye Ichiro
The clip opens with Ichiro declaring to his classmates: “I’m 45 years old and I have a family. But I have a stronger sense of being a high schooler than anyone here!” The video then showcases his impressive volleyball serve and athletic ability, while also revealing his academic struggles — scoring low on a test and earning a cold stare from 8-year-old Haruka. In another standout moment, Ichiro shouts, “I wanted to be a high schooler so badly it could kill me!” The PV also highlights his relationships with those around him: former colleague Aoyama Tatsuya, volleyball club captain Naruse Seitaro, strict manager Akai Kotone, coach Kawafuji Tsuyoshi, and club rival Suzaki Toru. The clip closes on Ichiro smiling alongside his teammates, accompanied by the words: “If I don’t do it, I’ll definitely regret it.”
Character Poster and Upcoming Reveals
The “Kaye Ichiro ver.” character poster depicts a father who confronts the barriers of age with single-minded passion, bearing the line: “A wide court to jump high on, and the wall between generations — I’ll clear them both with heart.”
The production team has announced that character PVs and posters for Shizuka, Kotaro, Haruka, and Gomes will be released sequentially via the film’s official social media channels.
