The official website for the Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Dōkōkai Kanketsu-hen film trilogy began streaming a teaser video on Saturday for the trilogy’s third and concluding entry, Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Dōkōkai Kanketsu-hen Saishūshō. The teaser confirms the film will open in Japan on February 5, 2027, and features the theme song “Dreaming Free” performed by the cast in character.
Story So Far
The trilogy picks up after Isla returns to her home country, following which the Nijigasaki school idol club receives an invitation to the “School Idol GPX” competition — a contest in which idols compete as individuals rather than by school, with performances distributed through a dedicated app.
The first film follows six club members — Ayumu, Kasumi, Shizuku, Kanata, Emma, and Lanzhu — as they travel to Okinawa to compete. While each member encounters new experiences, Ayumu finds herself wrestling with complicated feelings about competing against her own clubmates.
The second film shifts focus to Karin, Ai, Setsuna, Rina, Shioriko, and Mia, who journey through the Kansai cities of Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe for their respective competitions.
Trilogy Release Timeline
- Film 1: Opened September 2024
- Film 2 (Dai-2-Shō): Opened in Japan November 2025
- Film 3 (Saishūshō): Opens February 5, 2027
