Animation studio MAPPA celebrated its 15th anniversary on June 14, and to mark the milestone it has released the first of three planned anniversary key visuals — officially titled “MAPPA 15th Anniversary Key Visual: Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc ver.”
The image draws from Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, the theatrical anime film based on Tatsuki Fujimoto‘s manga that hit Japanese cinemas in September last year, with MAPPA handling all animation production. The key visual depicts Reze walking out of a shadowy back alley toward a beam of light at the far end — a quietly evocative image of hope and forward momentum.
Two more key visuals are planned as part of the anniversary series, with the subjects yet to be revealed. Fans are eagerly anticipating which other MAPPA titles will be featured.
Additionally, on June 19 at 8:00 p.m. JST, MAPPA will host a “MAPPA 15th Anniversary Lineup Announcement” livestream on the studio’s official YouTube channel, where further news about upcoming projects is expected.
