The official website for the Marronnier Ōkoku no Shichinin no Kishi (The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom) television anime — based on Nao Iwamoto‘s manga — released a second trailer on Monday, unveiling additional cast members and previewing the series’ opening theme song.
Opening Theme and New Cast
The opening theme is titled “Sayonara wa Iwanai” (I Will Not Say Goodbye), performed by yama. A portion of the song can be heard in the new trailer.
The newly announced cast members are:

- Natsumi Fujiwara as Princess Brunhild
- Takehito Koyasu as Elliot
- Kazuyuki Okitsu as Hugo
- Daisuke Namikawa as Peregrinus
The website also lists Hiroshi Tsuchida as King Lionel, Maki Kawase as Anna-Marie, and Kyō Yaoya as Lavinia.

The anime is produced at J.C. Staff with Kiyoko Sayama (Skip Beat!, Vampire Knight, To Your Eternity seasons 2–3) directing. Shinzō Fujita (To Your Eternity seasons 1–3, The World Is Still Beautiful) is handling series composition, Yuriko Maeda (Requiem of the Rose King, One Punch Man TV 2) is chief animation director, Yoshiaki Fujisawa (Land of the Lustrous, Love Live! School idol project) is composing the music, and Jin Aketagawa (Dr. Stone, Fire Force) serves as sound director.
About the Manga
The fantasy romance manga follows seven brothers who serve as knights of the Marronnier Kingdom — a realm at the center of eight surrounding kingdoms. Each brother is sent to a different kingdom as an ambassador, embarking on an adventure to find his destined partner.
The manga has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Flowers magazine since 2016, with the 11th volume shipping on June 10. It topped the female-reader rankings in Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2018 guidebook. Iwamoto’s other work, Kingdom of Gold, Kingdom of Water, was previously adapted into the Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom anime film, which opened in January 2023.
Premiere Date
Marronnier Ōkoku no Shichinin no Kishi premieres on October 3 on NHK Educational at 6:25 p.m. JST.
