The TV anime 名探偵プリキュア！ (Meitantei Precure!) has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 30, “Eclipse Shadow,” set to air on Sunday, 23 August 2026 at 8:30 a.m. on ABC Television and across the 24-station TV Asahi network nationwide.
About Meitantei Precure!
The 23rd entry in the Pretty Cure franchise, Meitantei Precure! centres on the motif of “detective work” and the theme of “seeing, feeling, and thinking for yourself to arrive at the true answer.” The story begins when Akechi Anna, a 14-year-old second-year middle-school student living in Makoto Mirai Town, is guided by the fairy Pochitan and a pendant in her room to time-slip from 2027 back to the city of Makoto Mirai in 1999. There she meets Kobayashi Mikuru, a 14-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a great detective. When the phantom thief gang Phantom begins stealing precious things from the townspeople, Anna and Mikuru transform into the Detective Pretty Cure to protect everyone’s smiles through the power of deduction — all while Anna wonders whether she will ever make it back to her own era.
Episode 30 Synopsis: “Eclipse Shadow”
With summer vacation underway, Anna and her friends pitch in to tend the flower garden at Makoto Mirai Gakuen — a project overseen by student council president Rei. Even the school’s director stops by to check on the work. While things are going smoothly, Kurea finds herself reminiscing about tending the garden at the Cuatt Detective Agency in London — until Rei suddenly notices that every last zinnia (百日草) that had been blooming moments earlier has been cut away.
Kurea examines the remaining stems with her Precure Mirror Loupe and confirms they were cut with a blade; footprints are also found near the flower bed. Although Kurea quickly works out who is responsible, Anna and the others are left puzzling over “Why would anyone do this?” Only Kurea smiles and says, “It’s simple — the reason is Rei-san’s enthusiasm and kindness.”
