Meitantei Precure! Fushigi na Niwa to Futari no Himitsu (Detective Precure! The Mysterious Garden and the Secret of Two) has achieved the highest box-office gross ever recorded by a standalone Precure film.
Opening on September 18, the film surpassed ¥1.24 billion in revenue and drew more than 977,000 admissions within its first month of release — edging past the previous record set by Wonderful Precure! The Movie: Thrilling ♡ Grand Adventure in the Game World!, which also earned ¥1.24 billion during its 2024 run.
Comments from the Otomo Fairy Cast
The four voice actors playing the film’s companion fairy characters each shared their reactions to the milestone.
Emi Nitta (Pochitan) said the story resonated with her deeply and that she could not watch it without crying — admitting she was moved to tears as early as the opening sequence. She encouraged anyone who has yet to see the film to head to cinemas and cheer on the Precure alongside Pochitan.
Karin Isobe (Shushuton) congratulated the film on its massive hit and noted that it speaks to adults and children alike. She drew inspiration from a lyric in the film’s insert song 「First Step」 — “だから道無き道も 奇跡信じ 進むよ” (“So even on a road with no path, I believe in miracles and press on”) — saying she herself will keep moving forward with the film’s encouragement at her back.
Hina Yomiya (Mashuton) thanked fans for their support and expressed hope that viewers will continue to cherish the feelings they discovered as important while watching Precure, adding that being able to do things together that one cannot do alone is something truly wonderful.
Yuki Kaji (Jet-senpai) celebrated the “super mega hit” and said he had felt the script was a wonderful story from the moment he first read it. He noted that people around him mention having seen the film every day, making it impossible for him to stop smiling. He also expressed how happy it would make him to see children waving their Pochitan Miracle Lights in the theatre, and invited audiences to return for multiple viewings.
