Merca Animation School has announced a two-day intensive summer course titled SUMMER BOOT CAMP 2026 ── An Anime Direction Seminar for “Watching,” “Thinking,” and “Creating”, scheduled for September 5–6, 2026 at Tachikawa Cinema City, Cinema Two c Studio in Tokyo. The programme spans four sessions across both days.
Four Themes, Four Professional Directors
The boot camp is structured around four core themes: Acting, Action, Music Video, and Art. Each session is led by a working anime director with hands-on experience in that field. Chief instructor Takase Koji will open and close the event.
Day One Schedule — 5 September 2026

- 14:15–15:45 Acting — Taniguchi Goro, director of Paris ni Saku Etoile
- 16:15–17:45 Action — Enokido Shun & Sakazume Takahito, directors of Fate/strange Fake

- 14:00–15:30 Music Video — Riku, director of the MV for “Primadonna” by Hoshimachi Suisei
- 16:00–17:30 Art — Shinomiya Yoshitoshi, director of Hanaryokusho ga Akeru Hi ni

Networking Session with Instructors
A post-course social gathering will be held after the final session, giving attendees the opportunity to speak directly with the instructors.
