Comments from Staff and Cast

Kawae Kota (Original Author): “Thanks to everyone’s incredibly passionate support, my work is getting an anime adaptation. I am truly grateful. Director Hashimoto’s anime Is the Order a Rabbit? once saved me during my days as a salaryman. Now, as a manga artist, I am deeply moved that he is once again extending a hand to me as the director of the Nue anime!”

Miura Kai (Yojima Gakuro): “I was already a fan of this series before I even auditioned, so when my agency told me I got the role, I literally jumped for joy. This is my first time voicing an anime protagonist and I’m very nervous, but I want to grow alongside Gakuro and convey the appeal of this work to as many people as possible.”

Onishi Saori (Nue): “My first impression of Nue when I went into the audition was ‘cool beauty older sister,’ but actually performing the role revealed a character with infinite possibilities that can’t be summed up in a single phrase. It’s a happy challenge. I hope to deliver a wonderful Nue to both manga fans and those discovering the series through the anime.”

Suzushiro Sayumi (Suou Nanasaki): “Congratulations on the anime adaptation of Nue no Onmyoji — I’m so happy! Nanasaki is perceptive and reliable, always pushing the group forward, but as the story progresses her care for her friends, her strength against the Genyou, and her occasional adorable side all shine through. Most of all, Nanasaki in battle is just plain cool! I want to convey her energy and every breath through my voice.”

Hashimoto Hiroyuki (Director): “The first thing that struck me reading this manga was how compelling the characters are — Nue, Gakuro, Nanasaki, and the rest are all cool and cute in their own ways. I’ll do my best to bring out the charm of the original without disrupting its atmosphere.”

Seko Hiroshi (Series Composition): “Reading Nue no Onmyoji, you can feel that Kawae-sensei is drawing the things he truly loves with genuine enjoyment, and that feeling reaches the reader. For the anime, I’ll give everything I have so that viewers can feel the tension, excitement, and fun right alongside Gakuro.”

Okabe Keiichi (Music / MONACA): “The original work has a dark, serious world that naturally coexists with the bright, pop energy of school life. That wide dynamic range is exactly where MONACA’s strength in diverse musical styles can shine.”

The official website for the Nue no Onmyoji anime is now live. The announcement segment from Weekly Shonen Jump’s program “Jump PRESS,” broadcast on October 12, is also available on the official “Jump Channel” YouTube channel.
