The third season of the TV anime Ranma 1/2 has been officially dated: it will premiere on Nippon TV every Saturday at 24:55 JST starting October 3, 2026, with exclusive streaming on Netflix to begin immediately after each broadcast. Alongside the date announcement, the season’s key visual has been unveiled and five new cast members have been revealed.

About Ranma 1/2

Ranma 1/2 is based on the manga by Takahashi Rumiko — the creator behind Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Inuyasha, Kyōkai no RINNE, and MAO — which ran in Weekly Shōnen Sunday from issue 36 of 1987 through issue 12 of 1996. The story is a martial-arts romantic comedy that continues to command a devoted fanbase decades after its debut.

This all-new anime adaptation is produced by MAPPA under director Uda Kōnosuke. Season 1 launched in October 2024, followed by Season 2 in October 2025, with Season 3 subsequently greenlit.

The newly released key visual places Ranma, Akane, and Ryōga at the center, surrounded by the new characters set to appear in Season 3. The illustration perfectly captures the chaotic, action-packed romantic-comedy spirit the series is known for.

Fukuyama Jun (Daimonji Sentarō): “When I got the call for Season 3, I assumed the drama-club president was coming back — but when I opened the script and saw Daimonji Sentarō, I was genuinely surprised (laughs). I was lucky enough to take part in an episode that’s both intense and extreme, and I performed it with everything I had — my throat was raw by the end. Please enjoy it!”

Tanaka Mayumi (undisclosed role): “I play an important role in the story, but I’m not allowed to say anything more just yet (laughs). Please watch the show to find out — I hope you enjoy it!”

Tanaka Minami (Kurenai Tsubasa): “I read the original Ranma 1/2 manga in elementary school, and I never imagined I’d one day voice Kurenai Tsubasa! I absolutely love the relationship between Ranma and Akane, and Ryōga is a personal favorite too. My heart is full of surprise and joy. Tsubasa is a character with a real edge to her, and I can’t wait to see what kind of whirlwind she stirs up in this Reiwa-era telling — Totsugeki!!!!”
