The summer 2026 anime Reiwa no Dara-san (令和のダラさん) has revealed the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 6, “Phantom Water Deity” (幻影の水神様), set to air on Thursday, August 6, 2026, on TOKYO MX and affiliated stations.
Episode 6 Synopsis
Kaoru, who has long admired the “beam” attacks from tokusatsu shows and manga, pleads with Dara-san to let her fire one herself. The outrageous request leaves Dara-san thoroughly bewildered. Meanwhile, during a holiday break, Hinata and Kaoru visit their relatives, the Nitta family. While enjoying the sea, the two siblings hear a local legend about a mysterious deity known as “Watagame-sama.”
About Reiwa no Dara-san
The series is based on the manga by Haruomi Tomatsuка, serialized on Kadokomi and Niconico Manga. It blends occult mystery with comedy in a distinctly Reiwa-era sensibility, directed by Masato Suzuki with animation production by Asahi Production.
The story begins when Hinata and Kaoru — siblings of the Mizogiya family, who have guarded a forbidden mountain for generations — sneak into the sacred off-limits area on a stormy night. There they encounter Yamatagimadara (屋跨斑), a massive serpentine curse deity. Rather than fleeing in terror, the fearless pair casually nickname it “Dara-san” and befriend it on the spot. The deity, burdened with a sorrowful past, soon finds itself playing the straight man to the siblings’ endless antics — and so begins a noisy yet heartwarming everyday life.
