The production team behind the summer 2026 anime Saikyō Degarashi Ōji no Anyaku Teii Arasoi (最強出涸らし皇子の暗躍帝位争い) has released the synopsis and preview cuts for its first episode, titled “The Dregs Prince” (出涸らし皇子), set to air on Monday, July 6, 2026.
About the Series
The anime is based on the light novel by Tanba, published under Kadokawa’s Sneaker Bunko imprint. The original web novel on “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” has accumulated over 570 million page views, while the print series has surpassed 1.95 million copies sold. The story is set in the militarily powerful Adrasia Empire, where Arnold, the seventh prince, is mockingly called the “Dregs Prince” — believed to have had everything overshadowed by his talented twin brother Leonard. When the first prince and crown prince suddenly dies, the succession war intensifies. Arnold decides to get serious, reasoning simply that he’d rather not die and would prefer to put his brother on the throne. While publicly playing the role of a useless prince, he secretly operates as “Silver”, one of only five SS-rank adventurers on the continent, manipulating the imperial succession war from the shadows.
Episode 1 Synopsis — “The Dregs Prince”
The seventh prince Arnold, widely dismissed as incompetent, is in truth the continent’s mightiest adventurer known as “Silver.” Setting his covert plan in motion to place his twin brother on the imperial throne, he pays a visit to the Duke Kleinert’s mansion. There, he encounters Fine, the nation’s most beautiful girl, known by the epithet “Blau Möwe” (Blue Seagull Princess). When Arnold uses the duke’s family’s misstep as leverage for his scheme, Fine offers herself as compensation — and so the story begins.
